Just because The North Face Men's Hype Jacket is TNF's lightest, most
packable Gore-Tex shell doesn't mean it lacks in waterproof protection
for backpacking trips. On the contrary, A Gore-Tex Paclite membrane
gives this 2-layer shell guaranteed waterproof breathable protection,
and fully taped seams prevent a single raindrop from seeping through.
The North Face also coated the center front zipper and the zippers over
the hand pockets with polyurethane for extra waterproof protection. The
Hype also features zippered underarm vents to bring some airflow on
warm-but-rainy summer days, abrasion-resistant prints over the shoulders
for advanced protection from shoulder straps, and a cinch-cord at the
hem and hook-and-loop cuffs to keep the bad weather out.
